new build

memory music

Notes about poem and art:
• “new build” is my final Sisterfest26 haiku, and it packs a personal punch with here-and-now sensory treasures from a sparkling, sunny morning walk and simultaneous memories of Cranford, NJ, in the early 1950’s. Can you smell that fresh lumber? Can you hear Daddy banging his hammer?
• Our Song, my final mood-mini of Sisterfest26, captures in me that of which Topol sings to Golde in Fiddler on the Roof, “Oh, what a happy mood she’s in.”
