There’s nothing like good old fashioned letter writing.

The color scheme on your abstract piece is scrumptious….and will be perfect for letter writing. It’s so much fun when something quick, impulsive, and intuitive can produce such lovely results.

  Somewhat to my surprise, I am less a good-old-fashioned letter writer these days than I would have predicted, especially given how late in the game I shifted to digital for any of what I might think of, as Daniel Hecht did in his novel, as “gentle, scholary art of letter writing.”

  I had a postcard of an abstract painting that sparked my picking up similar colors and informed a sense of flow. I then immediately had to respond to my not-the-same colors, not-the-same materials, and not-the-same flow to work entirely from within. At some point, I, like you, saw a hint of landscape so grabbed my dip pen and India ink to play with mark making that might emphasize that landscape feeling. Fun!

Love how the lines take me all around the image, sometimes following the shapes or not! Love the freedom your spontaneity creates. Looks MUCH larger than it is!

  Yup, this piece is tiny. It’s a bit crazy the impression that can be created by posting a photo of a piece of art without putting its size into some kind of context!
