Simone! Again, I am so grateful to have this now-playing-with-paint blog where I can keep of ‘diary’ of my thoughts, musings, missteps, successes, and artistic twists and turns, and where I have a small community of followers who shine light, encourage, and provide welcome perspectives and feedback!
Thank you for YOUR feedback here. Your response to “this thick, lush beige paint on top of a thick lush, green forest of abundant plants” gets me reflecting on the layers and layers, and the different days on which and different moods in which those layers came into being.
Thank you too for your response to “the dots!!!” They came about because I tried something or other while fine-tuning this painting and didn’t like the result. I grabbed a damp sponge to wipe away the wet paint and then impulsively stamped the sponge in several places and loved what that did to enhance spots that needed softening. In turn, that led to my picking up a small ‘texture sheet’ with raised dots and diving into a little spontaneous free-play with it with great joy— and loving the effect of how it played out in the larger context of the painting. Thank you for noticing!
