Simone, thank you! I made this piece using the negative space that fell as scraps when I cut out the shape for yesterday’s CutUp. Yay for your delight in the two dots—the inspiration for them came late in the game, as a nod to the yin yang symbol which holds a bit of the opposite element in each section.

The punched dot creating positive and negative space is clever. Yin yang indeed!

I lit up when then notion occurred to me! I was surprised to find it challenging to decide what size/shape/placement would work best with what I had to hand at that point in the process.

Just a note, but sometimes the like button doesn’t show up at the bottom of your post. Just one of those weird computer things, I’m sure. (I would click it for every post, lol) I love the simplicity here, and the wonderful marks within the leaves. 🙂

Thanks for letting me know about the LIKE button.
Simplicity. The word is such a welcome one! I’m grateful whenever I manifest simplicity : ) I enjoyed giving the leaves some texture here with the simplicity of quick and easy asemic writing.

In 2014, I grab an unexpected opportunity to paint.
To make art.
I get hooked.
In 2015 I start a blog—a diary of my life as an artist.
I post my paintings and their stories. The good, the bad, the ugly.
My compass points: bust through fear, be playful, get messy, trust my gut.
