Gift Wrap Redux

In the middle of wonderful busyness and bustle with a houseful of cherished family this past week, a few quiet moments presented themselves when my earlybird proclivities allowed me to take advantage of the sweet hush of an otherwise sleeping house to pop into my studio where I created a small sheet of impromptu gift wrap of a sort first created a year ago.

  1. I just love it! What is more beautiful, the gift or the wrap? 😉

What a beautiful piece of art to wrap around a gift! Bravo!

I’m imagining your week of wonderful family “busyness and bustle”…and I’m smiling. Tis the season….for the lucky ones.

    1. Thanks, MaryAnn! Creating this little square of gift wrap was a Christmas Moment for me. I loved having the chance to putter for a bit in my studio with a feeling of fullness and contentment that came from knowing my home was filled with my family, all snug in their beds while I painted! This particular piece was especially enjoyable because it allowed me to create scribbly messy chaos and then intuitively and quickly use negative space and markers and pencils and splatters to tease out a little family of evergreens : )

My Story

In 2014, I grab an unexpected opportunity to paint.

To make art.

I get hooked.

In 2015 I start a blog—a diary of my life as an artist.

I post my paintings and their stories. The good, the bad, the ugly.

My compass points: bust through fear, be playful, get messy, trust my gut.
