You’ve Got Mail—12

Remember Lava? Lava my camp friend whom I met in Hobby Nook when the rain came pouring?

Lava is the camp friend who taught me that she and another camp friend of hers every now and then look at each other and exclaim, either one at a time or simultaneously:

CAMP!

You know how it’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words? This is exponentially more powerful. This one tiny word, when expressed with just the right volume, intonation, and joy, in the presence of a Takodah friend, holds the entirety of your love for and life experience at Camp Takodah.

  3. Love, love, love! This has Billy’s footprints all over it. (Family Circus). LOL. I want to travel every path. Up to the trees, down to the clearing. Over to the creek bed and then back to the shaded pond. So delightful, Dotty!

    1. Billy! Great way to characterize this piece! Thanks, Sheila! Neurographica that presented as a neighborhood of houses when I originally created it transformed itself to CAMP! —with paths, trees, cabins, clearings, and pond—as I spruced it up, found two compositions instead of one, and made it into postcards.

My Story

In 2014, I grab an unexpected opportunity to paint.

To make art.

I get hooked.

In 2015 I start a blog—a diary of my life as an artist.

I post my paintings and their stories. The good, the bad, the ugly.

My compass points: bust through fear, be playful, get messy, trust my gut.
