Itch > Inquiry

Had an itch today.

Scratched it.

Explored an inquiry in my sketchbook in a taped square. It’s always well worth taping off a space for the exquisite pleasure of pulling away the tape after the fact.

Gave myself over to buoyancy, trusting the waters here to hold me afloat.

  1. Love the movement! My eye travels across, back and forth, coming always to the implied vertical in the center!

    1. Carol, love the term ‘implied vertical’—that’s exactly what it is! I love the movement here, too, the back and forth, the zig and zag, and the feeling that it is fluid and always shifting.

      1. Hi, It’s really cool that I get your response. Also, my name is a link to my new site, which is also nice. I only get one post. Will change my name to Carol Edan next time instead of Carollee. Here are screenshots of your site on my large desktop computer screen. No problem as far as I can see. Looks the same on my android mobile and Lenovo tablet. Only suggestion if you can design for mobile is that the spaces between the sections be smaller. Some people are lazy when it comes to scrolling. Carol

    1. Lola, I am SOOOOOO excited to see you here again at my blog after months of our trying to sort out that silliness without success. Being in conversation here with you is EVEN BETTER than pulling the tape away from a painting!!!!!

My Story

In 2014, I grab an unexpected opportunity to paint.

To make art.

I get hooked.

In 2015 I start a blog—a diary of my life as an artist.

I post my paintings and their stories. The good, the bad, the ugly.

My compass points: bust through fear, be playful, get messy, trust my gut.
