dotty seiter: now playing
diary of an artist at work

Hopscotch!

Inspired by Jane Davies, who recently got a new blog up and running at WordPress, I found myself ready to take on the challenge of doing the same myself after tolerating for way too long the frustrations of comment-generation chaos and nonfunctioning notification at my old blog site.

So I picked up a pebble, tossed it to a new square on the hopscotch court of the internet, and leaped energetically to my next blog location. I will keep links alive to my previous platform, where eight years of art and stories reside so that, as in hopscotch, my followers and I will be able to hop up the court and back whenever we choose.

With any good fortune, followers who choose to be notified of new posts will be notified of new posts, and followers who choose to comment will be able to comment, bringing back the lifeblood of the conversation that nourishes me at my blog.

See Dotty Seiter: Now Playing 2015-2023 here.

I never was good at hopscotch! Good luck getting everything up and running. I was surprised to see ads/sponsored content here…is that automatic on WordPress?

I’m going to try one more time. I’ve never been good at hopscotch.

    1. OMG, this unintentional blog launch is a hilarious debacle! But it sure is forcing my hand to figure things out. I’m horrified by the ads!

  3. High five and Best Wishes! Hi Dotty, I received 3 posts from you today. “This is new” and “Read More” lead to the, “OOPS…” could not be reached page. I am on WordPress too and if you need any help, I might be able to. LOL. I need to upgrade my blog, and you are inspiring me. As always. 🙂 I love your new look.

  4. Sheila, I’m laughing because I am in no way ready to go live, but I had a friend here this afternoon so we could bushwhack our way through glitch after glitch. She sent me some test messages, thinking they were going only to me so we could figure some stuff out, forgetting that we’d gone live temporarily to do so AND that we’d earlier imported my subscriber list. It’s like painting—always adventuring into the unknown. Thanks for your support and understanding : )

  5. I didn’t get here directly. Received several posts which brought me to a blue screen Dotty Playing coming soon. Since I have signed up for WordPress lite I saw they recognized me and pressed reader on the top left on the black bar. brought me to the reader page and saw that you posted. Clicked and got here. Really playing hopscotch! I didn’t have much luck with their platform so sticking with blogspot and doing the self-publishing. All the best.. Looking good! take the plunge!

My Story

In 2014, I grab an unexpected opportunity to paint.

To make art.

I get hooked.

In 2015 I start a blog—a diary of my life as an artist.

I post my paintings and their stories. The good, the bad, the ugly.

My compass points: bust through fear, be playful, get messy, trust my gut.
